Your closest point
Svartnes in Vardø is the easternmost port and the closest one to the Shtokman fields.
For ships transporting goods through the Northeast Passage and coming out of Russian waters, Svartnes is also the first harbour to be reached in Norway.
The geographical advantage makes Vardø an environmentally and cost minimizing location for performing offshore activities in the east Barents Sea. The closeness to Shtokman makes a difference by ship from 3,5 hours and more time- and fuel advantage one way, compared to other harbours both in Norway and Russia.
